1. Library - Bibliographies and Indexes

Range, scope and location

The Society seeks to acquire all available philatelic bibliographies, indexes and related items, as well as the catalogues of other philatelic libraries. The majority are donated, either when submitted for review in the Society's Journal, "The London Philatelist", or as part of the periodical to which they are the index.

All copies received are retained, even if holdings of the area covered by a bibliography or the journal covered by an index are incomplete.

All volumes are held in a separate section in the large library on the ground floor.

Key to access

All volumes are held on open access and may be consulted on the premises. Borrowing by members is not permitted, on the principle that these reference works should be available at all times in the building.
