Plate - Intaglio - Perkins Bacon 1857-1864 1d - defaced with irregular lines. 12x10 'St. Johns Newfoundland One Penny' with holes to fix plate. Steel. Stone (this may be 'B3' if so- ): '15th September 1856'. He also observed 'On the reverse can be seen evidence of 'knocking up' done in an attempt to obliterate traves of misplaced entry for the gutter between impressions 67 and 68'.
