The exhibit restricts itself to the Antilles. The islands consist of two groups, the so called Windward Islands, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, and the Leeward Islands, St. Martin, Saba and St. Eustatius. Pre-philatelic mail from the 17th Century to the early 19th Century is shown. In 1872 stamps became available specifically for the Dutch West Indies. Different types and perforations are included together with mail from this period.
