Subject:
With the ‘Scramble for Africa’ and its various imperial players as a backdrop, the stamps and postal history of East Africa offer both diversity and complexity. Members of the East Africa Study Circle will be presenting a wide cross section of material from British, German and Belgian perspectives. The display will be essentially chronological, from early Zanzibar letters via Uganda missionary issues and classic British East Africa through two World Wars with their associated boundary and political changes to the post-independence era.
