This display illustrates the Postal History of Tuscany from the Ducal issue of 1 April 1851 to 31 December 1862. On 1 January 1863 new rates were introduced and a new postal law was extended to all the Italian provinces, ending the postal history of Tuscany. Tuscan postal history will be shown in three main sections: domestic Tuscan rates, mail exchanged with the old Italian States, as well as incoming mail, and mail exchanged in both directions with foreign countries beyond Italy.
