Plaster model of Queen Elizabeth II portrait with painted surround by Sir Cecil Thomas, used for embossed postal stationery. The surround is for 8½d (eight and a half d) registration envelopes issued in 1954. Plaster model mounted in wooden frame without a glass front. Note on the back: 'The Model of the first relief stamp of Queen Elizabeth II used from 1953 to 1970. Cecil Thomas.'
