An International Philatelic Exhibition was held from 23 May In his opening remarks,
- 1 June 1906 at the Royal Horticultural Hall, London. recorded in Stanley

Phillips thanked the
Prince of Wales for
visiting the exhibition.
At the traditional
banquet on 25 May, the
usual loyal toasts were
made. In his speech Mr
H.R. Oldfield noted the
international nature of
philately, prophesied
that philately would be
prosperous when
Esperanto had been
forgotten, and recorded
the presence of ladies,
for the first time.
