Philatelic Collections

The idea of the Society developing a philatelic collection dates back to April 1870

but the project did not really get underway until May 1907. On the suggestion of
H.R. Oldfield, the Council made the important decision to form a reference

collection of stamps, forgeries, reprints, photographs with the primary purpose

of assisting the Expert Committee in their work.
