The spe lling of the name of the post offi ce changed from Owas ippi to Owas ippe in 1929. The Owas ippe
post office used a 4-bar dupl ex handstamp. Two different 4-bar duplex handstamps are fo und ; one was
used from 1929 until at least 1947, and another seen in 1952 and probably used until 1955. The postal
ca nce ls were used o nl y d urin g th e summer camp in g season and o nl y w ithin the Sco ut Camp .
