1897, incoming taxed commercial cover from Shiraz (Iran), posted unpaid in Bushire
(27.3) to Bagdad (9.4, Proud DB, one year earlier than recorded) where it also
received the Proud UP 5 and UP 11 tax markings (earliest recorded dates). The cover
was then sent on to "Karbla " (Kerbela) where I Pia. was added and cancelled to pay
the postage due. A remarkable combination.
