Posted on board the new Hamburg Sud luxury Liner Cap Trafalgar whilst in Argentinian territorial
waters. Thus postage was paid with 24 cents in Argentine stamps. (Double 12 cents foreign rate) and
cancelled with the Purser's office lineal postmark. It was disembarked at Lisbon on 24th April and
arrived at Isles de Suippe on 29th April. On 14th September, now an armed auxiliary cruiser, the Cap
Trafalgar engaged in a naval battle off Brazil with the British armed Cunard Liner HMS Carmania, and
the six-months old Cap Trafalgar was sunk with 17 casualties.
