Immediately after the Japanese Occupation the liberating Australian forces introduced Australian
type c.d.s. for many of the outstations. The one for Bintulu was misspelt 'BINTULA' so it was not
issued. This resulted in Bintulu using a succession of rubber date stamps. The one on this cover was
in use for a matter of weeks in May 1947. It is an internal cover at the correct rate, written in Jawi
script to The Honourable Muhammad Aceh Bin Rift at Sime Darby Limited Kuching. Very few
examples of this cancel are known and this may be the only known use on cover.
