        Three picture subjects were chosen for Keller’s birth centenary, each printed with the 7½c Tell Boy Type II, but the
        fourth card was issued with an imprinted ‘Peace’ stamp, designed by Edouard Vallet and engraved by Jean Sprenger.

                                                                   Noted for his German stories, novels,
                                                                   poems, and  sketches of  Swiss life,
                                                                   Keller first studied art at Munich but
                                                                   lack  of  means  compelled  him  to
                                                                   return to Switzerland,  where he
                                                                   received a  pension enabling him to
                                                                   study philosophy at Heidelberg.
