Between France and Greece at that time Mixed-Frankings or better Insufficient Frankings were not allowed.
There were letters to the French Levant franked with 50 cts and later with 40 cts, but this was not enough for
Greece, so underfranking was not accepted, the letters were fully taxed- CombinationFrankings group 2


































LS from Marseille 18. 10. 1864 franked with the Levant-rate of 50 cts with ship ,Danube" to Syra 13. 10.
and taxed with the full amount of 132 Lepta (7,5 to 10 g)






































• LS from Marseille 22. 12. 1866 with the just installed Line U 1 , Eridan"
paid the now reduced Levant-rate of 40 cts to Athens 15. 12. cancel with straight caracters
and taxed with 244 Lepta (10 -15 g)
