Automated Transfer Vehicle - ATV-2
February 16, 2011. Launch of Ariane V from Kourou, carrying in space ATV-2 Johannes Kepler that delivers
to the ISS 2.55 tons of supplies, oxygen gas, propellants and dry cargo (food, clothes, equipment).
Commemorative German cover cancelled on the day of launch in Kourou with the Ariane-5 special
postmark.
February 24, 2011. Automatic docking of ATV-2 with the International Space Station. ATV-2 traveled
over eight days to catch up with the ISS, and automatically docked at the aft port of the Zvezda service
module. During the rendezvous operations, ATV-2 traveled a total of 2.5 million miles (over 4 M km).
Commemorative cover postmarked at Toulouse, France where is based the Mission Control Center
which supported all of the ATV missions. Rubber stamp of the Toulouse MCC.
