EXPEDITIONARY MEMBERS’ MAIL, 24 February 1944
Overprinted stamps were scheduled for general release in the event, later, on 6 April 1944.
On the day of Tabarin’s visit, members were exceptionally permitted to buy the new issue, but only for personal mail
1944 Member’s personal mail franked with the Dependency overprinted 1d tied by new Dependency datestamp SG5,
to Tabarin’s legal consultant CHM Waldock at his home in Oxford; transit datestamped Stanley (PS.2A, 6 MR 44)
1944 Member’s personal mail to JC Mossop, credited with naming the Expedition,
franked with a new ‘Dependency’ 1d stamp tied by the new SG5 datestamp on the day of their visit
