At the RPSL: Following the precedent of 1935, the Society commemorated the Silver Jubilee
of its Patron with an exhibition at its premises. First use of audio equipment at a meeting.
RPSL Presidents were Ronald A.G. Lee & George South MBE. Patron H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.

In February 1977 the 10, 20, 40 and 50 cents values of the Butterfly definitive issue of Tanzania were
locally overprinted OFFICIAL by letterpress. The 20 cents value exists with a distinctive double
overprint, with the second overprint misplaced downwards covering the country inscription (SG
OSlc). This block of four showing the rare variety was used on 28th September 1977.
