1910 5c Inland Postcard Rate
The first Bundesfeier card to be issued, with imprinted 5c Tell Boy value, features a picture of Wilhelm Tell on the
reverse. The cards were initially cut to size 145 x 95mm but following complaints from customers re-cut to 140 x 90mm.
1 August 1910: card with imprinted 5c green Tell Boy Type II, addressed to Horgen in Canton Zürich
and posted at the Basel 18 sub post office in Gundeldingen.

16th century Swiss history records that
Winkelried sacrificed himself during the Battle of
Sempach (1386) to bring about victory for the
Old Swiss Confederacy against the army of the
Habsburg Duke Leopold III of Austria.
