                                        Per letter contents, frustration concerning anti-slavery sentiments reads as follows:

         The British were very interested in developing plantations on the Caribbean islands to provide food.  Many Scots invested in and
         worked on plantations. The Caribbean provided opportunity compared to Scotland where land was  limited and difficult to work.
