The Royal Philatelic Society London

Welcome to our website

This is the home of philatelic excellence, expertise and friendship.

For more than 150 years the Royal, as the Society is universally known, has led the way in bringing together like-minded folk who collect Stamps, Postal History, other philatelic material, and many side lines like the history of collecting and ancestry.

We take pride in showing what philately is and how we do it and we invite surfers, members and anyone from anywhere who might have landed here to take a few minutes and find some of the gems we offer.

  • Great displays of collections and previous lectures and presentations.
  • A library and museum catalogue second to none of books and periodicals from the very start of the hobby, also linked to the Global Philatelic Library where the search becomes worldwide and covers information in other languages, outside of our collection, which is in itself very substantial.

We are in London in a wonderful building that is a stone's throw from the original London Letter Office established in 1653, and we welcome visitors. We also let out our beautiful spaces for meetings, conferences and parties. However our interest is worldwide and our membership covers the globe.

Our history is fascinating and our news and events stimulating.

There is lots to see on this website and you are always welcome. Some areas naturally are reserved for Members, so if you would like to consider joining 2,300 others from 80+ countries have a look.
