Egyptian Postoffices In the Levant
Contrary to letters in connection with Egypt the Egyptian postoffices were treated different.
Mail to Greece had to be paid resp. taxed to the Greek border (Combination-frankings Group 1)
Mail fLom Greece beared only the Greek inlandrate and the Egyptian tax.

bably paid in cash, in Syra 23. 8. taxed with 20 Lepta - an unusual treatment
• 3 LS from Syra 13. Nov. 1871 franked with inlandrate of 20 L. and mailed with Egyptian post via
V. R.Poste Eaiziane in Smvrna 28.11. to Meteline 29.11. taxed with 4 (40 Para= 1 Piaster)
