Russia (Group) 1 b)
From Russia were two ways to Greece:
from Northern Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg) letters must be fully
paid or unpaid - so combinations could only exist with underpaid covers
from Southern Russia (all around the Black Sea as Odessa, Taganrog
Berdjansk and Rostow) letters must be paid by the sender till the Ex-
change-Office in Konstantinopoulis (only from May 1864 in stamps) and
were taxed for the way to Greece and paid by the addressee
LS from Rostow 17. 4. 1867 with uncancelled 34 Kop. franked to Constantinople
to Syra 6.5. with French ship taxed with 65 L. for 7,5 to 10 g (1,5 x 30 + 20 Greek= 65 Lepta)
LS from Rostow 10.4.1868 franked with 34 Kop. to Constantinople
to Syros 27.4. with French ship and the new reduced rate for 10 • 20 g of90 L. (2 x 45 L.)
