                Its <Patn to Success

         The scope of the exhibit
is to demon strate the idea, principles and
act ivities of Scout in g and its develop-
ment from Baden-Powell ' s Scheme to
today 's wor ld wide movement.

               Thematic development
Scouting is a we ll -known theme; this ex hibit
demonstrates a novel approach as well as
app lying th e materia l in a new way, uti li s ing
the thematic information to its full extent. The
most appropriate items are chosen, showing the
conn ection between width and depth in the
elaborat ion of the theme. Personal studies have
res ulted in new materia l being inc luded.

                Philatelic importance
A wide ran ge of philatelic material is shown .
Prio rity is given to hi ghest philateli c
importance: wor ld c lass philatelic items
(origi na l artwork, essays, proofs and varieties);
important posta l hi story items (cove rs and
other postal documents). Phi latelic st udies are
included when appropriate, and are blend ed
with the thematic deve lopment.

                    The presentation
of the exhibit is also part of the deve lopment
and treatment. The thematic text connects and
exp la ins the thematic qua lification of the items
and gives appropriate thematic information.
