Hounslow is in the London Two Penny Post area on the Great
West road. The receiving house of the Two Penny Post operated
from 1652 to 1857.

The red oval mark applied by the General Office, when a letter
transferred to Two Penny Post, is Mackay type 162. The black
"T. P. I Rate 2" is Mackay type 221.
