Before World War 2 a regular ferry link oJ)erated between Helsinki and Stettin in
Germany. The route was closed on the outbreak of war in 1939.
A 1938 cover posted on board a ship sailing
between Helsinki and Stettin in Germany.
The Finnish stamps have been cancelled with
the postmark of the German Sea Post Office,
probably applied when the cover was posted
on the ship. The postmark reads,
'Deutsche_ Seepost I Stettin I Helsingfors'
50 penniii paid the Finnish foreign printed
paper rate.
