In 1962 a regular ferry service between Finland and West Germany was reopened
using Travemiinde, the port of Lubeck as the German terminal. Stettin was no
longer available as the town had been transferred to Poland in 1945.
Two Finnish ferries sailed on this route; MIS Finnhansa from 1966 to 1977,
and MIS Finlandia from 1967 to 1978.
Covers posted on the MIS Finnhansa and MIS Finlandia showing the distinctive
pictorial postmarks used on mail posted on the ships .
