The Cargo Ships
In 1965 the Atlantic Container Line was founded with Wallenius , Transatlantic, Holland America and
SAL as partners. Shortly afterwards Cunard and CGT joined the consortium. Ownership was divided into
five equal shares with SAL and Transatlantic each having having half of of one share. SAL operated
only one vessel, the MS Atlantic Saga, which stared service in 1967 initially under its own name and later
under its parent Brostrom name

The SAL operation was taken over by Transatlantic in 1984, ending nearly 70 years of the company.
