The Cargo Ships

In 1967, the SAL decided that the operation of its remaining 19 cargo vessels should be separated from its
passenger liners. It set up a subsidiary, the Swedish Atlantic Line, with the intention of selling four of the
ships and transferring 14 of the remaining 15 to the new subsidiary. Only the Vibyholm was to remain. In
the event only eight were transferred, including the Vingaholm, nine were sold and one was wrecked.
The Vibyholm was sold in 1969.
