             Between 1953 and 1955, the rate for a registered letter sent airmail to North America was SFr.1.30 (40c foreign letter


             + 40c registration fee + 25c x 2 airmail surcharge), a fee matched by the combined values of the National Festival
             set plus a further 25c adhesive from the 1949 Landscapes issue.













        Held on 18 July 1955, the Geneva Summit was a Cold War-era meeting of "The Big Four": President Dwight D. Eisenhower of the
        United States, Prime Minister Anthony Eden of Great Britain, Premier Nikolai A. Bulganin of the Soviet Union, and Prime Minister
        Edgar Faure of France. The stated mission of the 1955 summit was to reduce international tensions.
