1928 40c Overseas Postcard (Airmail)

Bundesfeier cards issued for foreign airmail use include an imprinted value of the 40c violet ‘Pilot in Cockpit’ design,
reproduced from the airmail postage stamp issues of 1923.

1 August 1928: airmail card addressed to Palmers Green in London, posted at Zürich airport and flown
on the regular Air France service between Zürich and Paris, then by surface mail to England.
