There are many examples of mail from this period, flown by domestic and overseas carriers, with inconsistent
franking, making it difficult to establish how the final postal charge was calculated.

       9 August 1928: addressed
         to Freiburg am Breisgau
       and flown on the regular
       Balair service between
       Zürich and Basel Mulhouse
         (nearest airfield).

       The 10c Tell adhesive may
       have paid for the surface
       mail rate between Basel
       and Freiburg.
