                      Adhesives cancelled with five “897” numerals (contrary to regulations) with
                         corresponding “Wisbeach JY 8 1850” datestamp on the reverse.
                      Liverpool “JY 9” datestamps on front and the reverse.
                      Boston “Br Packet Boston, 24 JUL PAID”; red “24” rate, and “5 CENTS” exchange
                         office credit markings.
                      Adhesives paid the 1 shilling per ½ ounce treaty rate.
                      Traveled on the July 13, 1850 sailing of the Cunard Asia, arriving Boston July 23, 1850.
                      US retained 5¢ credit for inland postage.
                      Ten states had a town named “Arena” during the 18 century. There was a “Farmerville” in

                      rendered the letter undeliverable and it was returned to London where the “SENT BACK TO
                      ENGLAND WITHOUT A REASON FOR NON-DELIVERY” handstamp was applied.
