The provisional 3d printed uprating on 1s 9d
envelopes served their immediate purpose
in terms of ensuring a continued appropriate
product was available to the public, but a
new die was needed. The text on the revised
embossed design reads: “Registration And
Postage / 2/-”.
There were 48 dies, but not printed envelopes,
registered over a 14-month period between
4 Oct 1963 and 7 Jan 1965.
The 2s envelopes were on sale from February
1964, nine months after the die was finished.
