Indicium 2s 1d
The increase from 3d to 4d for the minimum inland letter rate on 17 May
1965 triggered the need for the 2s 1d indicium; this was the total with the
1s 9d minimum inland registration fee. These envelopes were superseded
on 3 Oct 1966 when the minimum registration fee jumped to 3s.

Note the date of the essays is almost three years earlier than the
