Indicium 3s - Forces Overseas
The overseas registration fee was increased on 3 Oct 1966 from 1s 9d to 3s.
It remained at this level until decimalisation on 15 Feb 1971 when it was
converted unchanged to 15p. Only G2 size envelopes were issued.
As with previous overseas rates, there was a fixed compensation limit. Initially
this was £2 18s, but this limit was increased to £3 8s on 16 Sep 1968.
In August 1968, at a similar date to the inland equivalent, the design was
amended to include the French RECOMMANDÉ. This was particularly
relevant for overseas mail.
