Indicium 1s 9d - Forces Overseas
On 1 July 1963 the overseas registration fee was increased from 1s 6d to
1s 9d. The inland rate had increased to 1s 9d a few months earlier, on
29 April, creating temporarily the unusual situation where it was cheaper to
register an overseas letter that it was in inland one.
These envelopes had only the registration portion of the total cost included,
with the postage element normally being added by adhesives. Only G2 size
envelopes were issued.
Die numbers 1 to 6 were registered on 6 Feb 1964, although only Die 1 has
been recorded.
