Indicium 1s 6d - Forces Overseas

Between 1 Feb 1961 and 30 Jun 1963 the overseas registration fee was 1s 6d. This was
a fixed rate with a maximum compensation of £2 18s. These envelopes had only the
registration portion of the total cost included, with the postage element normally being added
by adhesives. Only G2 size envelopes were issued.
When the fee was increased to 1s 9d on 1 Jul 1963 a small number of envelopes were
overprinted with MINIMUM REGISTRATION / 3 / EXTRA. These envelopes are rare.

Die numbers 1 to 4 were registered on 5 May 1961, with only Die 1 being recorded.
