Six printings from July 1952-Nov 1957, from a pair of nickel coated plates (5567 and 5568) and 1
cylinder (5533). Small pip (2mm) in marginal selvedge (left and right). Comb perf 14x13.5.
Designed by Peter Morriss. Based on one of 15 photographs taken at Taronga Park Zoo (Sydney) by
M. Downing (Dept of External Territories). Background depicts the New Guinea hinterland. Value not
initially contemplated (519150). Subsequently adopted at the suggestion of the Administrator
(19112150). Final design approved 21/11151, without caption at base ("Tree Climbing Kangaroo").
Issued as a make-up value. Qty sold 2,576,461. Withdrawn 11.07.60. Not replaced due to change in
postal charges.
