1922 cover from Mariehamn in the Aland Islands to Turku in Finland
posted on a ship sailing between the two ports. On arrival in Turku the stamps were
cancelled with the old tri-lingual pre-independence datestamp with the Russian
inscription removed and stamped with the bi-lingual Finnish/ French 'Laivakirje
Paquebot' postmark to indicate that the cover had been posted onboard a ship .

The Laivakirja I Paquebot mark was in regular use in Turku from 1922 to 1960.
