Since the 1960s the ferry routes between Helsinki and Turku in Finland and
Stockholm in Sweden have been dominated by two major shipping groups, the Silja
and Viking Lines.
1982 cover posted on the Silja Line MIS Fennia sailing from Stockholm to Turku
postmarked with the Turku maritime mark and ship's cachet; also a postcard showing
the ship at sea.

The MIS Fennia built 1966 sailed mainly on the Turku to Stockholm route until 1984.
