In 1990 a new pictorial machine cancellation was brought into use in the Turku
maritime post office to cancel mail arriving by ship at the port.
Top: Cover posted at sea on the Viking Line ferry MIS Kalypso that operated on the
Stockholm to Turku route between 1990 and 1993.
Bottom: cover probably posted on a British registered ship operating in the Baltic
hence the valid use of a British stamp to frank the cover.
