Unsold cards returned to the Bundesfeier Committee, were often distributed free to school children, soldiers and
Swiss abroad.

Meyer (1755-1829)
The institute at Yverdon opened in
July 1805 and remained for 20 years,
making it the longest lasting of
Pestalozzi's endeavours. Pestalozzi
spent the first few months of his stay
at Yverdon in quiet literary work,
thanks to a monetary gift from the
King of Denmark, Christian VII.
