1939 Overseas Postcard Rate
The first Bundesfeier art cards (without imprinted value) were issued for the 1939 National Festival, to raise funds
for the charity supporting mothers in distress. A total of 599,000 cards were produced.
Netherlands and posted at the central office in
24 July 1939: Bundesfeier card addressed to The
Lausanne. Franked with 10c adhesives from the National Festival issue of the corresponding year,
making the correct rate for an overseas postcard.
