Intragna, Ticino Parliament, Berne

• A view of Intragna in Canton Ticino, near the Italian border, is depicted on the 10c value. The church was built in 1738 and houses

an exceptionally fine collection of bells. • The 20c value marks the 652 anniversary of the founding of Swiss democracy and depicts

the Bundeshaus (Parliament House) in Berne. The Bundeshaus is a combination of three buildings, all in Florentine-Renaissance

style. The western block (on the left) is the oldest dating from 1848.

1 August 1943: cover addressed to Zürich and franked with the 20c National Festival adhesive, making the
correct inland letter rate (zone II). Posted at Mobile Post Office No.2 in Berne, where it was struck with the
MPO cds and Bundesfeier cachet.
