1891 "6 cents". SURCHARGE
In 1891 the foreign letter rate was reduced to six cents per ounce, as there was no 6
cents stamp the Government issued provisionals which were in use for a year.
Surcharged on the 8 aild I 0 cents value of the 1886 "POST AGE" issue and the 8 and I 0 cents
values ofthe current "POSTAGE & REVENUE" issue.
lt is believed that only one sheet of the 6 cents on 8 cents value of the 1886
·PQSTAGE' issue was overprinted and put on sale at Sandakan.
