Plate Proofs (colour trials) from Transfer 'A•

Imperf. blocks of nine in (3 x 3) from top left comer on thick wove paper in pink and green. The wide
left margin includes a guide mark ( + ) opposite the third row. The colours are very similar to the 4c
pink and 8c green stamps issued July or August 1883 anq were almost certainly produced as colour
trials for the these stamps. From half sheets (rows 6-10, less R4/6) ((Parsbro, pp 5 & 6)
