COMPETITION 1822 -1830 The La Fayette- Charter
Black Ball Line One Voyage Only
When the Nestor beached on December 25, 1824 her replacement was still
under construction. The La Fayeffe a Black Ball trader was chartered for one
voyage to fill the sailing schedule. Grounding of the Nestor was the second
Black Ball packet grounded by Capt. Pease in nine months.
