COMPETITION 1822-1830 The Orbit- Last Voyage
Black Ball Line
With the unexpected loss of the Liverpool, the Black
Ball Line needed a temporary replacement until a new
packet could be built.
The Captain of the Orbit, a Black Ball trader sailing
between New York and Liverpool, had the experience
to fill the void. She sailed three voyages during her
short time as a packet and allowed the Black Ball Line
to maintain their reputation for customer service and
reliability.
