MS Gripsholm (1925)
When not cruising the Gripsholm reverted to the Atlantic crossing.
This example (reverse shown right reduced) dates from 7 June
1934. It is posted on the Gripsholm before its arrival in Sweden.
The postcard reads: "Here we are stopping in Sweden in a couple of
days. Sea has been smooth and the weather fine. The postcard
arrived at its destination, Hornpayne Canada, on 19 June.
Then followed the first of a series of Baltic cruises. The cruise started in Goteborg on 25 July and finished
on 27 August 1934. A new cachet was in use: Deposee en plein mer. This letter was posted on board on
5 August 1934 and dropped off at the next port of call, K0benhavn, where it received a date-stamp of
6 August. The paquebot mark is from the Gripsholm .
