MS Gripsholm (1925)
The Gripsholm returned to Goteborg at the end of its 1935 Winter Cruise on 31 ,, •
March. In April it commenced its first African Cruise with stops at Lisbon

(21 s ), Funchal (24th), Casablanca (27th) and Cadiz (29 h) .
Here are two examples of mail from the stop at Lisbon both with the African
Cruise cachets and the ship's paquebot mark.
The postcard shows the Gripsholm and her sister ship the Kungsholm and has
the PAQUEBOT for Lisbon. It is also headed in manuscript "ombord 2114 35"
the day of the Lisbon stop.

The envelope has in addition a cachet for "Lisbon" and is signed by Conrad Nilsson, the postal clerk on
the Gripsholm.
